The Refuge Church is a nondenominational body of believers made up of people from diverse backgrounds, races, ages, and cultures. We are a family united not by personal preferences, but by our shared desire to worship Jesus together in unity.

At The Refuge, we believe the church is not a building—it is a body of people.

We are a church of grace and second chances. No matter your background, past, or current situation, you are welcome here. We understand what it means to be broken and to live in a fallen world. We are not perfect, and we don’t expect you to be. Instead, we are real people striving to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with as many as possible in the community God has placed us in.

The Refuge Church is a safe haven for all. Whether you have walked with Christ your entire life or are still seeking to know Him as your Lord and Savior, you are in a safe place where you are loved, valued, and accepted.

Meet Your Pastors

Pastor Mark and Amanda Ferrare established The Refuge Church in March 2016, beginning with services held in their home in Riverview, Florida. Together, they bring over two decades of ministry experience, having faithfully served in a wide range of volunteer and staff positions. Their leadership is marked by a hands-on approach, a commitment to excellence, and a deep love for people.

Pastor Mark currently serves as the Lead Pastor of The Refuge Church, guiding the vision and mission of the congregation. Mark and Amanda have been married for 24 years and are the proud parents of four children, as well as grandparents to their first grandchild.

Phillip Moore

Elder Phillip has been a part of The Refuge Church for the past three years. With a strong background in ministry, he has played a vital role in helping several churches grow and thrive from the ground up. At The Refuge, Elder Phillip serves faithfully on the worship team and contributes in many areas of leadership, bringing both experience and a heart for service.

Nick and Melanie Gennaro

Nick and Melanie have been involved in ministry for over 20 years and have faithfully served The Refuge Church for the past seven years. Nick brings a strong background in youth ministry and teaching, serving in a variety of roles within the church. Melanie, with her background in music, is an active member of the worship team. Together, they are dedicated to using their gifts to serve and strengthen the body of Christ.

Debbie Ford and Bernie Howard

Debbie and Bernie have been part of The Refuge Church since its beginning, serving faithfully as founding members. They play a vital role on the finance team, ensuring the smooth operation of behind-the-scenes responsibilities. In addition, they are deeply involved in welcoming and connecting with new members, helping foster a warm and inviting church family.

Lead Sound Tech and Kids Lead

Adam and Michelle Beale

Adam and Michelle play an integral role in the life of The Refuge Church through their faithful service and leadership. Adam serves as the lead sound technician, bringing several years of experience in media and ministry to ensure excellence in every service. Michelle, with over 20 years of experience as a preschool teacher, leads the Kids Ministry with passion and dedication, creating a Christ-centered, nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. Together, Adam and Michelle are committed to using their gifts to build up the church and serve its members with excellence.

Lead Social Media Team

Mykai and Arianna Ferrare

Mykai and Arianna Ferrare are newlyweds beginning their journey in ministry and are already serving faithfully at The Refuge Church. They lead the church’s social media, managing and executing all online platforms and livestreams with excellence. In addition, they are pioneering the Young Adult Ministry, creating a space for young adults to grow in faith and community. Their journey in ministry is just beginning, and they are excited to see how God will continue to use them in the years ahead.

Pastor Benjamin and Felicia Curry have been faithfully serving the Lord for over thirty years, with much of that time dedicated to pastoring. Now, as valued members of The Refuge Church, they provide wisdom, guidance, and support to the leadership team, drawing from their decades of ministry experience. Their commitment to Christ and His Church continues to inspire and strengthen the body of believers at The Refuge.
